Dr. Melia McManus

Dr. Melia McManus is board certified in anesthesiology and pain medicine by the American Board of Anesthesiology. She is delighted to join the staff of Comprehensive Pain & Neurology Center.

For her undergraduate education, Dr. McManus attended the University of Miami, where she majored in neurobiology. She is a graduate of Nashville’s Meharry Medical College and completed a residency in anesthesiology at Stony Brook University Hospital in New York. Dr. McManus also completed a pain management fellowship at the University of Toledo, where she served as the chief fellow.

Dr. McManus received an excellent education and hands-on experience in her fellowship at the University of Toledo. Here, she learned from both private practice and academic physicians who are highly regarded in pain management and neuromodulation.

In caring for patients with chronic pain, Dr. McManus looks at the whole person.

“It is important to look at the whole picture,” says Dr. McManus. “Pain requires multiple modalities of treatment, and I enjoy working with patients to discover what modalities will work best for each individual. No one is exactly the same. I like to focus on interventional treatments if available, but there are many ways to approach each individual patient’s situation.”

Dr. McManus enjoys taking spin classes, arts and crafts, reading, hiking, and attending live music events in her spare time.

Dr. McManus works at our Hermitage and Hendersonville clinics.
